The primary aim of the AAN is to support the delivery of a high quality apprenticeships programme.
Specifically, AAN members through engagement with other employers and stakeholders, promote how apprenticeships:
- Can help tackle skills gaps
- Enable the widening of access to skilled trades and professions
- Are relevant across all sectors, therefore helping to deliver more apprenticeship starts
- Enable progression routes.
Our network forms a central hub for sharing good practice in apprenticeship delivery and learning from each other as well as developing new ideas for attracting, retaining and growing our apprenticeship programmes.
Our membership is made up of c80 public and private sector employers who have established apprenticeship programmes within their own organizations.
SEAAN is one of nine regional networks, supported by the National Apprenticeships Service and is also a member of the National Apprenticeship Ambassador Network.
What we do
Members undertake their ambassador role on a voluntary basis by supporting and influencing a wide range of key stakeholders including schools, colleges, local enterprise partnerships, new employers and their supply chains, trade associations and employment bodies. They champion and support marketing, publicity and events to raise awareness of apprenticeships and also mentor other employers.
Celebrating might include putting on award events, graduations and initiatives such as National Apprenticeship Week
Storytelling where we share peer-to-peer first-hand accounts about apprenticeships – young person to young person, employer to employer
Signposting means pointing employers and potential apprentices towards accurate sources of information about apprenticeships
Sharing insight with Government offers us the opportunity to feed back to Government lessons learnt and what ambassadors are hearing about apprenticeships
Apprenticeship Ambassador Network Strategy
The Apprenticeship Ambassador Network inspires and influences people to choose apprenticeships, as a route to create business and individual success across the county.
The Apprenticeship Ambassador Network is the movement championing apprenticeships to raise awareness and increase engagement to meet the needs of employers, communities, and individuals across the country.
