TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:
I have just finished college completing a Level 2 Art and Design Course. I went from that, to working in a pub for a couple of years and I saw an apprenticeship advertised on Indeed. It was for a different position but the recruiter saw that I was best fit for another role. Many interviews later I was able to successfully land my job role/ apprenticeship.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:
Pre-Press Operator – In the printing industry, pre press operators receive print ready files from clients, look over the artworks and prepare them for print. I use desktop publishing software’s, creating and sending off proofs, retouching graphics and colours in artworks, laying out artworks, sending files to print, transferring images onto plates, handling and bagging the plates to be used on a press and keeping the plate room safe to work in by keeping it tidy and organised.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
I want to be the person holding the torch down the path for people to see that there is other ways to have a career without going to University. I also want to show the benefits of being an apprentice and the experience you gain from learning and earning first-hand.
