As an employer, Southampton City Council are currently utilising more than 25 different apprenticeship standards internally, ranging from Levels 2-7 and are steadily growing the number of apprentices on programme through both new starts and existing staff. We understand the value of apprenticeships for both retention and succession planning of our own workforce and hope to lead the way for Southampton based employers.
To support this, we are also helping local SME’s take advantage of the opportunities apprenticeships can bring via the levy transfer scheme and open applications regularly for SMEs to request a transfer from the Southampton City Council levy pot.
