TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT ROLE:
I started my career in 1973 with an apprenticeship specialising in the manufacture of all types of gears and transmissions working in a variety of both large employers and SME’s working on marine, aerospace, automotive and motorsport projects.
I joined Xtrac, motorsport transmission specialists in 1990 working on gear manufacture and I have worked with the apprentices from 2000 having set up Xtrac’s current award-winning apprenticeship scheme in 2003. Xtrac were winners of the Princess Royal Training awards in 2018 and 2021. I am a qualified assessor and internal quality assurance and I work with Newbury College and University Centre Newbury. I am a consultant to City & Guilds Industry skills board, employer and industry board.
