Congratulations goes to those apprentices who participated in the Alex Innes Apprenticeship Awards 2023 earlier in July. The awards in in honour of Alex Innes who tragically was a victim of knife crime in Oxford last year. He was an apprentice then, and his father Andy Innes of A1 Contracting was there to present the awards to the winning participants.
The apprentices came from a number of Oxfordshire based electrical organisations: Darke and Taylor, Edmonson Electrical, BoJen Electrical Ltd, Lowe and Oliver Ltd, and West and West Electrical Engineering, who really promote the opportunities offered to people via the apprenticeship programme. This particular course was led with training provider JTL Training People.
The competition was to follow the plans for and install an electrical system in the training rooms of the training provider. The video below shows the work carried out by the apprentices and gives a good insight into the the work of an electrician. Our thanks to JTL Training for sharing via our Employer Ambassador Simon Newton from Darke and Taylor. Thankyou too to Andy Innes of A1 Contracting for sponsoring this category and giving others an opportunity to showcase their industry.
