National Apprenticeship Awards 2023
Several apprentices and Employers from our region got to the finals of the National Apprenticeship Awards at the end of last year. Well done everyone!
It was fabulous to see 2Excel Engineering Ltd awarded as Highly Commended.
The National Apprenticeship Awards Programme states:
“2 Excel Engineering Ltd is a Maintenance and Repair Organisation for aircraft, based at Lasham Airfield in Hampshire.
As a company of 200 people, their investment in apprenticeships has enabled them to not only successfully plug their own skills gap, but grow their team of high quality aircraft engineers by passing down valuable knowledge and skills from their skilled workforce to the next generation. They have already begun to introduce apprenticeships in other areas so that they can replicate these benefits across the business”. Well done 2 Excel Engineering Ltd!
Amazon Intermediate Apprentice of the Year Award was awarded to Amy Brown of Tombs Development Cheltenham Well done Amy!
Highly Commended was Elizabeth Coult a production chef with the Royal Navy in Portsmouth Her bio in the National Apprenticeship Awards Programme stated “ Developing her skills in the kitchen whist getting to grips with the difficulties that come with such big organisation is no easy feat. Her ad hoc role could see her catering for a function one day and cooking for ship’s company the next, fuelling her passion for the job and continuously learning new things. She’s a proven asset to the team, demonstrated through gaining more responsibility over training junior team members”.
