Zurich Insurance UK uses apprenticeship levy funding to support charitable partners

Zurich Insurance

Zurich Insurance UK is a member of the SE Apprenticeship Ambassador Network. In 1973 it set up The Zurich Community Trust (UK) Limited which makes it one of the longest-established corporate trusts in the UK. It is funded by an annual donation from Zurich Insurance UK businesses and by generous donations from employees.

Since then it has awarded grants and brokered business volunteer time from Zurich Insurance UK valued at over £90 million to deserving causes. It is an integral part of Zurich’s broader and long-held commitment to corporate responsibility.

Mind in Haringey, The Diana Award, Spotlight UK, Dementia UK, Simon on the Streets, Society of St James, Better Things, KIDS, Carers Support Wiltshire and Phoenix Enterprises, are amongst some of the charities that have benefitted from such support.

The Trust has recently been able to offer 15 fundraisers the opportunity to upskill by embarking on a L3 Fundraiser Apprenticeship using Apprenticeship levy funding transferred from Zurich Insurance UK.

The L3 apprenticeship has enabled the fundraisers to learn the key skills, knowledge and behaviours required to take an innovative approach to make up the revenue that their fundraising events generated pre-pandemic.
