I work at the Caravan and Motorhome Club and my experience includes roles as a generalist HR Manager, Advisor and Recruiter.
With over 1200 employees, we have always been a levy payer at the Club but initially we were unable to support apprentices, mainly due to time constraints, so although we did some upskilling it was not a key focus area. However in the last year that has changed and we now have 17 apprentices across the business with a mix of new recruits and upskilling current employees, mostly at our head office in West Sussex. The drive for this was mainly to widen our recruitment pool, create great opportunities for young people as an alternative to university and to give us the opportunity to demonstrate that the Club is a great place to work. We also promote apprenticeships as a development route, where suitable.
