TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT ROLE:
I am a neuro-diverse individual who has overcome significant challenges. However, with the right working environment, support, slight adjustments and sheer determination I have made my dream of becoming a Practice Manager.
I have worked in primary healthcare for 34 years, starting as a receptionist working through to Practice Manager at Grovehurst Surgery. Over the years, I have seen and gone through many changes within the NHS and primary healthcare. My responsibilities encompass overseeing the daily operations of the practice, ensuring the delivery of highly quality healthcare for our patients, managing administrative and clinical staff, handling HR functions and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. I am also responsible for the Practice income, overseeing Qof prevalence and checking data accuracy.
I advocate inclusion from all aspects of society, believing that everyone should be given the same opportunities.

I am deeply passionate about the NHS and the service we provide. A significant aspect of my role is investing in staff development to cultivate the next generation of healthcare professionals and administrators, ensuring the sustainability and excellence of our practice.
I joined the Apprenticeship Ambassador network because I believe in the transformative power of apprenticeships for both individuals and organisations. Apprenticeships offer invaluable opportunities for personal and professional growth, equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in their careers. As an Ambassador I hope to:
- Advocate for the importance of apprenticeships in healthcare
- Share my experiences and best practices in developing apprenticeship programmess.
- Inspire other employers to embrace apprenticeships as a means to build a skilled and dedicated workforce.
