Gregory Liddlelow

Apprenticeship Title

Data Analyst Apprentice

Employer

Brighton & Hove City Council

Tell us how you first became an apprentice:

Previously, I had explored pursuing formal training in data analysis independently, but found the financial barriers prohibitive. Discovering that I could access the same high-quality training through an apprenticeship-while gaining valuable, hands-on experience-was a ‘no brainer’. I embraced the opportunity and enrolled in the programme, eager to build on my existing skills and contribute even more effectively to my team and by extension the organisation

Tell us about your current apprenticeship role:

I am the Asset Management Officer with responsibility for tracking and reporting on asset compliance and performance using data following inspections and updates across the council’s housing stock.

Why did you want to become an apprenticeship ambassador:

I became an ambassador to be able to share my experience as a way to encourage others to embrace the apprenticeship opportunities, as a way to improve and develop oneself and by extension their organisation. Like myself, I believe that there may be many others who are unaware of the availability of apprenticeship programmes or how to become an apprentice, also to dispel any reservations that this is only for younger individuals. It is for everyone.
