Tell us how you first become an apprentice:
I became an apprentice after leaving University. I left uni with zero work experience and found this to be a massive challenge. The majority of job adverts wanted 1-2 years experience for an entry level position. This, and the fact my International Business degree was quite broad, I found that an apprenticeship where I get some great work experience and learn a more specific subject was a no brainer.
Tell us about your current apprenticeship role:
As a marketing apprentice at Activate Learning I help promote courses we offer to previous and new students of our colleges. My mentor is the business partner for the Adult Education division, so the majority of my work involves promoting adult education courses. However, I am also involved in projects outside of this division, including being Project Coordinator for a fundraising event in July. This is with our internal charity MindGreen.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
My apprenticeship has help me grow an unbelievable amount over the last seven months and I am very keen to build my network. I was fairly fearful of entering a professional work setting before my apprenticeship, but I have grown and become very confident in my abilities. I would love to share my experiences, thoughts and feeling to those who want to do well in life but are scared or do not know which path to take.
