TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:
I applied for university and I had a few offers, including a place at Durham University to study Business Management but I wasn’t sure if university was the right route for me. I went to a school where the traditional university route felt like the only option available so I deferred university for a year as I was undecided between studying law and business. I worked for a solicitors for a year and during that time, I applied for many degree apprenticeships but I was lucky enough to get Visa.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:
In my current role, I work in the Marketing Services team but I have also completed 4 other 6-month rotations across the business including HR, Client Services, Barclays Acquiring Team and B2B travel. My current role combines a mixture of skills and responsibilities: preparing decks for client meetings and actively engaging in client discussions, managing marketing agencies, creating briefs, leading opportunities, organising events, networking, helping brainstorm ideas based on client demands and helping with ad hoc activities.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
I want to become an apprentice ambassador to help those who are undecided about what they want to do and show young people that there’s more than one route to success. I feel very lucky that I was able to get my role and I want to help as many people as possible to be equally successful in their early careers journey. I want to be able to answer questions young people have by providing my first hand experience.
