TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:
After finishing sixth form at 18, I knew I wanted more than university – I wanted hands-on experience without the debt. I researched degree apprenticeships, went through tough assessment centres, and found the perfect company with amazing managers. Just three months in, I’ve already taken part in meetings/workshops all over the UK, visited sites like Amazon, Virgin Atlantic and Temu in Dublin and Manchester, and gained incredible industry insights. I never really thought about logistics before – packages arrive at our doors and we rarely consider what happens behind the scenes. Seeing the processes first hand has been incredible. It gives you a whole new level of respect and appreciation for the work involved, and even makes you more mindful when ordering online.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:
My role as a Sales Degree Apprentice gives me exposure to both the sales team and the logistics team, which oversees all operations to ensure efficiency. Beyond that, I have the flexibility to explore other areas of the business, such as finance, healthcare and marketing where I’ve already supported an event in London. The role offers incredible variety, hybrid working, and the chance to meet experienced professionals who share valuable insights and advice. It’s an amazing opportunity to learn and grow across multiple functions of a business and find out what really suits you.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
I want to become an Apprenticeship Ambassador to share how valuable apprenticeships are and why it’s important to explore alternatives to university, especially if your school doesn’t highlight other options like mine didn’t. Educating and meeting with young people to help them start a journey like mine, one that already offers incredible success and opportunity. Take the time to explore as much as you can and find what truly suits you.
