TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:
Initially I wanted to study Engineering at university however, after studying Physics at A level I realised Engineering was not for me. Because I thoroughly enjoyed Maths and Economics, I thought Finance would be a better fit for my skillset and doing an apprenticeship as opposed to a degree will help me qualify as a chartered accountant sooner.
I became an apprentice as a school leaver because I wanted to acquire work experience at a young age for me to be in highly skilled roles. I am an ambitious individual who is also great at working in teams and networking with a variety of people as well as delivering work for me and my team to reach our objectives and I thought an apprenticeship will help me expand my current skillset as well as acquiring new ones.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:
My responsibility within the team is to help prepare journals (which are running records of all our financial transactions) with actual and forecasted figures relating to reinsurance policies, Alongside investigating intercompany differences by performing reconciliations.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
My motivation for joining these networks is to help eliminate negative assumptions about apprenticeships and to help provide the support I was never given in my college in regards to what I needed to know about apprenticeships.
