TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:
I was working in an HR administration role, but realised that getting into more operational and strategic HR was my goal, so I decided to enrol on the Level 3 course. I wanted to learn more about HR and enhance my career prospects. I liked that opting for an apprenticeship would give me the flexibility to continue in my role, whilst also learning and building my expertise.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:
I am currently HR Coordinator at my organisation, which involves being the only member of HR staff. I oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle, write all our policies and get involved with strategic work such as staff surveys and overseeing our employee development programme. I make suggestions to improve employee experience and get to create and manage my own HR workload. I also get involved with some other aspects of the business such as health & safety and event management.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
I am passionate about learning and development and truly believe in the importance of learning in the workplace. I would like to help promote the benefits of apprenticeships and share my experiences of how completing an apprenticeship has benefitted me. I am also a big advocate for neurodiversity, so this is area that crosses over, because I’m passionate about ensuring that aprpenticeships are accessible for all. I have almost finished my level 3 apprenticeship and hope to continue my apprenticeship journey by enrolling on the level 5 next year.
