TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:

I first considered an apprenticeship after progressing from an individual contributor role into team leadership and then management. As my responsibilities grew, I realised I needed more structured training to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and better support my team. An apprenticeship offered the ideal combination of practical learning and formal development to help me grow as a leader.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:

In my current role as a Pre-Sales Manager, I lead a team that supports the sales organisation by providing technical expertise and helping customers understand the value of our solutions. I coach and develop my team, manage priorities, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across the business. Alongside this, my apprenticeship helps me strengthen my leadership skills and apply structured frameworks to better support and develop others.

TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:

To help raise awareness of the opportunities available, particularly for colleagues in more junior roles who may not realise how accessible and valuable apprenticeships can be. Starting my own apprenticeship at 51 has shown me that development is possible at any stage of your career.

Initially, I’d like to support our Learning & Development team by promoting apprenticeships internally at IRIS events and sharing my experience. As I progress through my programme, I’d also like to engage with local schools and the community to show how apprenticeships can build confidence and open doors to long-term careers.
