For many years I have been fortunate to have steered my career towards L&D and wanted an opportunity to develop further. So we have a dedicated team who look after the apprentices and they advised me of this course.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:

My current role is Culture and OD Officer.  I have worked for the NHS since 2022 but been fortunate have worked for incredible organisations within the development and training field for over 20 years. Have been working for the Trust for almost 3 years now and in that time, I have assisted with, the design and facilitation of leadership training and awareness workshops career conversations, Trust Induction and mentoring sessions. I am a trained ILM coach, Facet5 accredited profiler, qualified Cultural competency trainer and had at least 20+years in Development. I am involved in various voluntary groups EDI, Freedom to speak up, Employee Wellbeing and menopause Ambassador. For 2 years, I was the sole chair of the staff women’s network which went from 113 to 280 members in that time. In October 2023, I put together a focus group for our International recruits to provide them with a safe space to share their experiences, good or bad and provide them with additional ‘buddy’ services. To aid to their wellbeing and safeguard their future journeys whilst working at the trust.

TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:

I would like to become an Ambassador because I feel the apprentices’ journey is important and to support them with resources, sign posting and if required that listening ear. Apprenticeships are so important in regards to not only the development of the individual but to the organisations. As an Ambassador I hope to be a positive role model. would also like to reach out on a level of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity. Making sure ‘everyone’ is able to receive the support they need.
