Tell us how you first became an apprentice:
I began my Travel Service apprenticeship age 15, a week after I left school. I went straight into being a travel agent and working full time. I did not have a great experience at school and whilst I was capable of doing the work, the setting wasn’t for me. I left with no GCSE’s but a ton of enthusiasm as a passion for Travel.
25 years later and I have had a fantastic and very successful career and about to complete my 2nd apprenticeship, this time level 5! This course has supported my continuous learning and further developed my leadership and academic skills.
Tell us about your current apprenticeship role:
I started this Apprenticeship at the same time of starting a new role and having a promotion. | lead a team of ‘on the road’ account managers who drive sales and engagement through agents selling TUI holidays. | am their mentor, motivator, cheerleader and push them to be the best version of themselves.
Why did you want to become an apprentice ambassador:
I became an ambassador because I love supporting others and seeing people thrive. I have experienced a lot of challenging situations and overcome personal and professional setbacks using my resilience and positive mindset to turn things around. Apprenticeships are an amazing way to start a career with hands on experience and I want to inspire others to believe in themselves and go for it!
