TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:
I chose not to apply to university, as the career path I wanted to pursue relied more on who you know than what you know, and the cost was also a significant factor. After my friends left for university, I began to feel quite lost. I was working unsociable hours at a café, which made it difficult to see them. This led me to explore apprenticeships. Initially, I wasn’t very hopeful, as throughout school I had been led to believe that apprenticeships were mainly for trades such as plumbing or electrical work. However, I discovered two creative apprenticeships and decided to apply for both.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:
I am a Film Office Apprentice at the Berkshire Film Office, a project set up and run by Resource Productions. In my day-to-day role, I work with councils across Berkshire to promote and facilitate filming on council-owned land and property. I act as a bridge between councils and productions, helping to manage communication and reduce their workload.
TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:
I want to become an Apprentice Ambassador to continue learning and developing my understanding. I enjoy discovering new things and broadening my horizons, and I believe it’s important to feel that the work you do has purpose and meaning.
