TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECAME AN APPRENTICE:

Instead of following a traditional academic route, I decided to explore various sectors to build hands-on experience and develop practical skills.

Over the years, I worked in several roles, gaining valuable insights into different industries. This approach allowed me to understand what I truly enjoyed and where I could make the most impact. While I loved my work, I realised that further education and formal qualifications would help me take my career to the next level. That’s when I saw the apprenticeship opportunity as the perfect solution.

Choosing an apprenticeship has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s a great way to hone my existing skills, learn new ones, and ensure I’m fully equipped for future challenges.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT APPRENTICESHIP ROLE:

In my current apprenticeship role, I work as an Employment Adviser at Seetec Pluss, where I support individuals who face various barriers to employment. My role is centered around helping these individuals navigate the complexities of the job market by providing tailored guidance and support, ensuring they can secure and maintain employment.

As part of my Level 4 Employment Adviser apprenticeship, I’ve been able to deepen my understanding of key models and techniques that are critical in this line of work. One of the most impactful models I’ve learned is the Johari Window, which is a tool that helps me understand how clients perceive themselves and how they are perceived by others. It encourages open communication and self-awareness, which is crucial when working with clients who may have a limited understanding of their own strengths and potential.

TELL US WHY YOU WANTED TO BECOME AN APPRENTICE AMBASSADOR:

I am passionate about the value apprenticeships offer, both for individuals and for businesses, which is why I wanted to become an Apprentice Ambassador. As an Employment Adviser, I actively recommend apprenticeships to my participants as a fantastic way to gain hands-on experience, earn while learning, and develop long-term career skills. I truly believe apprenticeships bridge the gap between education and employment, offering individuals a practical, real-world path to success.

I’m excited about the chance to advocate for apprenticeships on a wider scale, share my experiences with others, and inspire people to explore this excellent route into sustainable employment.
