I am the Apprenticeship Specialist at Wokingham Borough Council.
This is a rewarding and challenging role championing the use of apprenticeships as part of our wider resourcing strategy. Most of my time is spent working with managers to understand their resourcing requirements and then procuring training providers to deliver the most effective apprenticeship programmes to meet our objectives.
We offer a range of apprenticeship programmes from Business Administration to master’s degree Chartered Town Planner. Key to ensuring a successful outcome in our apprenticeship programmes is ensuring that both the apprentice and manager receive support for the duration of the scheme and that progress is monitored to ensure everyone is on track. As part of this support, we have established a 6 weekly Apprenticeship networking group and take time to ensure we celebrate our apprenticeship successes.
Apprenticeships are a key part of our learning and development strategy.
