TELL US ABOUT YOUR CURRENT ROLE:
I am an award-winning former apprentice who leads the strategic investment of West Sussex County Council’s growth and skills levy and apprenticeship programme across approximately 200 schools with a workforce of around 10,000 staff and has been invited to share best practice with organisations including the Department for Education (DfE) and the Local Government Association (LGA).
I have generated record-breaking levy spend and apprenticeship programme growth across West Sussex County Council’s schools through managing over 50 apprenticeship programmes across teaching, leadership, early years, and support roles, providing specialist consultancy for senior leaders, delivering targeted school engagement strategies, and maintaining strong outcomes and standards via robust apprentice caseload management, provider commissioning, and internal quality assurance processes.
I also actively champion careers education within schools and colleges and celebrate apprentice success through voluntary work, such as my Lead Ambassador role with National Careers Week and as a judge and chair for the National Apprenticeship and Skills Awards.
TELL US WHY YOU JOINED THE APPRENTICESHIP AMBASSADOR NETWORK:
I am eager to become an employer apprenticeship ambassador to continue improving my professional practice and further champion the transformative power of apprenticeships – for individuals, employers, and the wider economy.
My apprenticeship training and professional experience offers a holistic perspective that achieves apprenticeship success through combining the lived experience of being an apprentice with strategic and operational knowledge of how to navigate the benefits, opportunities, and challenges associated with embedding apprenticeships into organisational workforce strategies.
